History

Beaver Building and Backyard Improvements was founded by Alex Beaver in the spring of 2005 with a used Pontiac Bonneville, a 4×8 trailer, and a raggedy half-full tool belt.  After greatly in carpentry school, Alex spent time with a few local companies learning various aspects of the building trade. However, he quickly became anxious to put his skill to work for himself.

Starting slowly doing odd-jobs for friends and family, his reputation for quality and value quickly spread through word of mouth until his business grew too busy for him to handle alone.  Five years later in 2009, Alex and his business-minded older brother, Paul, incorporated Beaver Building and began hiring local carpenters.  This was an exceptional feat given the weak economy and the amount of competition from other local carpenters.

In August of 2009, Beaver Building acquired an existing landscaping company – Greencare Landscape Management – as its property maintenance and landscape installation division. The two companies now work hand-in-hand to provide a wide variety of services to property owners.

Since then, Beaver Building has expanded and several substantial fleet upgrades have been made.  The trusty old Pontiac Bonneville has long since been replaced by a brand new Ford Super-Duty that features the Busy Beaver prominently on its windows.  Several other upgrades include a few more heavy-duty trucks and brand new equipment, as well as expanding their workforce to include a full production crew, a full time Office Manager, and a dedicated Customer Relations Manager.

Alex still has the raggedy tool-belt.
